Our Annual Toy drive
Julie & friends have been organizing and executing
the Joseph Silva Memorial Holiday Toy Drive since Christmas of 2013. This Annual Toy Drive is to collect thousands of toys, new clothing, books and gifts for hundreds of families and deserving children throughout RI & nearby Massachusetts. We maintain the policy that every child deserves to wake up on Christmas morning with gifts under their Christmas Tree.
Sir Joe's Birthday Closet
Three Birthday Closets
are established at three separate locations & are hosted by other agencies. Children’s Friend, Warren Head Start Program, and by Jules Hope Chest. We established these closets to help provide opportunities to help make individual children celebrate their birthday’s by receiving a special gift to mark the occasion. We also allow the closet to provide Ice Breakers to Social Workers and Teachers that need help with approaching at risk children.
Kindness and Grace Emergency Fund
Our non-profit organization helps
families, clients, and other agencies on case-by-case situation. We help emergency issues and help provide gift cards, essential items, clothing, toys & educational items & school supplies to families in need. The in-kind donations are a result of emergencies such as displaced families, homeless or fire situations, death of a parent or guardian and different domestic and COVID related situations causing hardship to local families.
Essential Program
As a result of the impact that the
pandemic has had on so many families that we assist a need for essential items has become elevated to alarming numbers. We established an essential area in our office to help provide our client families that need so extra assistance obtaining items that can not be purchased by SNAP and with inflated prices have become difficult for families to afford. This program includes items such as diapers, wipes, soap, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, bug spray, sunscreen, body wash and more. See the list below
Always Remember
Our Memorial program
was created to provide a way for our supporters to honor the children and at risk families we service while allowing us to “Always Remember” their loved ones.
By choosing Jules Hope Chest as the non-profit to bless with donations in memory of your loved ones you are helping us to continue to instill hope while we enhance the lives of children on child at a time. We help at risk, low income families and children throughout the state of Rhode Island by helping provide the everyday essentials needed for childhood development that all to often get mistaken for extra’s instead of the important items they truly are in the lives of all children.
Gift Cards 4 Hope
We collect gift cards
to provide product, services and opportunities to families in need throughout the year. We also utilized this program during the holidays to help us provide gifts for the older children pre-teen and teenagers that are harder to buy for yet still deserve a Christmas gift under their tree.
Keeping Calm Kit Campaign
This program was developed to
provide the tools to help children self soothe during high anxiety situations. It’s been proven that the pandemic and results of it have added to the stress and anxiety the children. Our Keeping Calm Kits come in a bag to contain individual items to help a child self-soothe. The kit contains items such as calming self-soothe. The kit contains items such as calming bottles, stress balls, fidgets, pop its, stuffed animal friends, books, pin wheels, coloring books with crayons & bubbles to name a few items included. This year we set a goal to distribute minimum 1000 keeping calm kits.

Dollars 4 A Difference

Dollars 4 A Difference is a program that allows anyone to donate. Donations can be placed in participating containers with the Jules Hope Chest logo at local businesses and organizations. We accept all cash donations regardless of the sum, to be given back to the Rhode Island community.
We are committed to helping the most vulnerable at need children in the state of Rhode Island by providing opportunities and resources that they may otherwise not experience.
